Still credited as “Michael Fox,” M.J.F. appears among the enrollees at crumbling, crime-ridden Lincoln High School—and gets stabbed in a cafeteria brawl!—in Lester’s dystopian Canuxsploitation classic, a sort of punk/New Wave Blackboard Jungle in which rookie teacher Perry King learns the ropes from pistol-packing vet Roddy McDowall, coming into the job with a fantasy of turning things around, To Sir, with Love–style, only to get a crash course in sociopathy from the rabid student body. Filmed on location in scenic Toronto—you can even see a car get flipped in front of the venerable Barberian’s Steak House on Elm Street!
